Precious. Strong. Clothed in Strength And Dignity.

The Merriam Webster dictionary defines laugh as an intransitive verb with multiple meanings including, “to show emotion (such as mirth, joy, or scorn) with a chuckle or explosive vocal sound.”

The book of Proverbs describes an ideal woman as one who is “more precious than rubies…clothed with strength and dignity, and laughs without fear of the future.”

Twenty first century women live in a world where they have been empowered to do more than ever before - vote, own property, run for president, seek justice when sexually assaulted, provide for a family on their own, choose to have a spouse who stays home while they work, the list is endless.  And even with everything they are capable of, laughing without fear of the future is something they rarely do.

Instead they worry about keep pace with artificial timelines, finding purpose, measuring up to unrealistic appearance standards, and finding “balance” while juggling a heavy load of public and private and private responsibility.

While the environment women find themselves in may be new, one thing has not changed – the desire to be beautiful. Every single woman from the most dynamic CEO, to the most painfully shy wallflower, wants to feel gorgeous, and will stand taller, speak louder, and fight for what she deserves harder, when she loves the way she looks.

Sometimes all it takes to make that happen is an amazing pair of earrings.

Laughing without fear of the future is still doable.  It just takes believing that any obstacle in your way is no match for you, the girl behind the pearl.

To precious, strong, women of dignity, who laugh without fear of the future!

xoxo,

DB
